The rooms are available from 15 pm on your arrival day. Do you want to arrive earlier? We'll store your luggage and you can get and out. This also applies to departure. Check-out time is 11:00.

Would you like to explore the National Park by bike? That’s possible. Atlantis Hotel is located at the edge of the National Park, and from here you can cycle miles and miles through green Limburg. The hotel is located at Kattevennen gateway, between junction 29 & 560.

  • Expo: The World of Bruegel

    In 2019, it will be 450 years since Pieter Bruegel the Elder’s death. This will be commemorated at various locations, under initiatives from Toerisme Vlaanderen (The Flemish Tourism Agency). And that includes Bokrijk – The Open-Air Museum will start the celebration on April 6th 2019 with a grand temporary Bruegel Exhibition (The “Bruegelexpo”), which will immerse you in this famous Flemish Master’s world.

    Thanks to an inspiring route, an interactive game or theatre performance, you will see life through Bruegel glasses next summer.

    Discover the exhibition ‘The world of Bruegel‘ in the Open – Air Museum of Bokrijk as of April 6th until October 20th 2019 during the regular opening times. The exhibition is included in the entrance fee free of charge.

    Opening times

    The Open – Air Museum is open from 10h. to 18h. Closed on Monday’s except on Belgian bank holidays and in July and August.

    Bruegel Theatre

    In the summer, from July 11th to September 1st 2019, the Laika Theatre Company will present a family show here every day, following the example of rhetoricians of yesteryear. “People” play the central role in this humorous story.

  • Studio Piet Stockmans

    Studio Piet Stockmans is the only company in Belgium that develops hard porcelain. The material and its production are identical to that of the best porcelain manufacturers in Bavaria and Limoges. This year, Pieter Stockmans will celebrate his 50-year anniversary of working with porcelain.

    Since setting up his studio in 1987, Pieter Stockmans has been exhibiting all over the world. Besides selling his work to the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, he was also made cultural Ambassador of Flanders and has been awarded numerous prizes, including The Red Dot Award.

    One of the studio’s milestones was the development and production of the plate for Albert of Monaco’s wedding to Charlene Wittstock in 2011. Additionally the studio has developed tableware for a large number of Michelin star chefs such as Alain Ducasse (Louis XV - Monaco), Simon Taxacher (Rosengarten – AU), Peter Goossens (Hof van Cleve – B) and Sergio Herman (Pure C - NL).

  • Terhills Cablepark

    Terhills Cablepark is famous for waterskiing and wakeboarding, which is suitable for young and old. You are connected to an electrically driven cable, where you can be pulled over the water along with other people. Cable water skiing is similar to snow skiing in the way that you glide over the surface. Wakeboarding is very popular with younger people because of all the tricks and stunts they can do thanks to the obstacles in the water. Additionally, Terhills Cablepark has three cables,  one is suitable for beginners.

  • Barefoot path

    You don't need shoes on the first barefoot path of Flanders in Zutendaal. The surface of wood, stones, tree chips, grass, clay and water gives you a special feeling. For two kilometers a barefoot stimulation of senses, a special experience.

  • Bilzen Mysteries

    Bilzen Mysteries is located at The Grand Commandery Alden Biesen. You can discover this brand new attraction after sundown.With a tablet in your hand and headphones on your ears, you make an unprecedented multimedia journey through 800 years of history of the Teutonic Order.

    From the Brethren Knights on crusade, over dancing nymphs in the romantic Temple of Minerva, to a devastating fire... Immerse yourself in the enchanting scenery of Alden Biesen and a fascinating story based on true events.

    A virtual guide will show you the way. This guide is the Lord Biesen (interpreted by famous actor Jan Decleir). Duration of the attraction: aprox. 70 minutes.

  • C-mine

    The renovated mine buildings today are home to designers and artists such as ceramic artist Piet Stockmans, the design and fashion academy, but also trendy eateries and the Euroscoop. You can also visit the C-mine expedition. A unique (interactive) experience course in the Winterslag mine buildings through underground corridors and ending on the 60-meter-high shaft with a phenomenal view of the region.

  • Connecterra, panorama gate of Hoge Kempen National Park

    From the hotel you walk in the nearby National Park Hoge Kempen. The new main entrance, Connecterra, is a nice entry. There are plenty of activities and you can enjoy a surprising landscape of 'mountains and lakes' with high peaks and spectacular panoramas.

    The Bokrijk Open Air Museum takes you back to the past. For example to square where the church bells are ringing, the pastor practices his thunder speech, the mushroom patrols and the farmer and peasant woman work on the farm. You are introduced to long-forgotten Flemish crafts. Did you experience the 60's and do you miss them? Or did you miss this period and would you like to experience it? In Bokrijk, 'the Sixties' comes back to life in a brand new museum area!
